Changes

In my high school art class we were required to keep a blog. That is the only experience that I have ever had with blogging, and I used it only to share my photography. But things are changing; I'm going to be away from the people I love for a good long period of time while we are all out on our own adventures. Oyin, in all of her wisdom decided to try out a blog and it got me thinking that maybe this is a good way to keep tabs on all of the new adventures that people are having. So who knows if I will actually use this, it took me long enough just to figure out a layout I could live with and I still can't figure out how to change the font color, but there you have it. It's imperfect, and very much me. If nothing else, I will be able to fall back on the photography side of things and post photos from all of the amazing experiences that Alex and I will undoubtedly be having in our 4 months in Australia.

So for now, this Boston chapter is closing. As life goes, there were ups and downs and a lot of in-betweens and although I'm a west coast girl through and through I can honestly say that I'm going to miss this place. The sound of the T, walking 45 minutes to get ANYWHERE, and just being around so many awesome people all of the time.

Tomorrow Alex and I begin this fantastic opportunity, starting with a quick trip home to Portland and then after that, a long journey to the other side of the world. It's going to be a whirlwind and I really hope that I don't lose touch while we are gone. I'll be checking facebook and using Skype to catch up.

I definitely have mixed feelings about everything that is happening and there is a sadness there, but overall I can't wait to see what the next four months have to offer. Change is scary, but at least in my experience I've found it to be a very powerful and positive aspect of my life.

Alex, I can't wait to get started on this adventure, and to everyone else I'll be seeing you soon.
