Slacker!

So it has been a good long while since I posted and I didn't realize how long until yesterday. Oops? Time really does fly when you're having fun. Or midterms. Or whatever =) The way school works here is by week. So right now we are in week 7. I had a 2,500 word paper due on psychopaths Friday of Week 5, an Exam on Tuesday of week 6, and a big photography assignment (10 photo prints that fit difficult briefs) due by Thursday of week 6 when I left to go to Sydney for the weekend with my friend Ryan. I also had to get a bunch of application/resume/cover letter stuff done before I left so that hopefully I will have a co-op job for the spring. Fingers crossed on that. Needless to say it's been busy, and the fun doesn't stop there. I have an exam this week on Thursday, and then next week (week 8) I have a 15 minute presentation, and another 2,500 word essay due. Not to mention actually finding myself a job and writing the paper I have due week 9. Oh yeah and I scheduled a weekend trip to Melbourne with a friend Mary. Busy, Busy, Busy.
These pictures are from our weekend trip to Sydney. The top one is the opera house and the bridge. And the second one is from when we went up to the top of sydney tower. It was a gorgeous day and I really liked the lighting out the windows with the city in the background.
Our first night there, there was an asian food festival with a lot of delicious food and performers as well as a photography exhibit. The guy in the photo above had a group of kids gathered around him while he made huge bubbles. It was not only very cool, but the kids loved it.
These lanters are part of the asian food festival, and the orange set on the blue sky right after sunset was beautiful. The one below show's how many people were there, and that photo was from outside the festival area. It was so cool.
We did so much stuff in sydney this weekend. Along with the photos from above, we walked through the botanical gardens, went to the aquarium and wildlife world, university new south wales, walked across the bridge, went to china town, walked through hyde park, and so many other things. I fell in to bed when we got home last night and slept for 10 hours. It was a really great time, even though it rained for at least half of the weekend. When I get a chance to edit more photos I will put those up as well.
