I can't believe we are already in our 3rd week of classes. I know that I joked a lot about not having any work while I'm here, but between photography and all of the research I will be doing for the papers I have to write I will be spending a good amount of time on work. However, the reason it will take so much work is because I'm interested in the things I'm doing, so I want to do them well. This last week Alex and two of the other girls from Northeastern and I bought a car to use while we are here. There is a picture of our new baby. It's a junker but that's just what we needed for only 4 months and it has already made life a lot easier in a lot of ways. However, it is a manual, so I need to practice that a bit before I can be driving it. Luckily the two girls we got it with both know how to drive it well. Considering that the steering and everything are on the right side of the car and you have to shift with your left hand, that is extremely impressive. Not to mention trying to do all of this backward while driving on the wrong side of the road. Who knew driving could take some brain power? If I can get good at driving a manual here, I will have no problems at home. The first two pictures are from various trips to the beach. It's just spring here now so the weather
has been fairly inconsistent with rain patches almost every day, which is fine but makes it a little tricky to find beach time because it takes so long to get there on the bus. The car however should help with that problem nicely and when we get a little closer to summer I'll probably be begging for rain. Other than testing out the car and figuring out how to get around I haven't been up to too much for the last few days. Just relaxing and doing work, it's been really nice. I know that I'm going to start getting stressed out fairly soon so I'm trying to enjoy it while I can. For my Drugs and Behavior class I have to write a paperon some sort of drug and it's effects. I can choose anything really so I need to pick a topic by this week and get started with the research on that. For my forensic psychology class I have a paper to start writing on psychopaths, so on top of the books I checked out from the library I've been watching movies like American Psycho and Girl, Interrupted for my own information. Unfortunately I don't think
I will be able to use them in my paper, but they are a fun outlet. And in Love, Sex, and Relationships we are talking about all sort of fun things. Specifically right now we are talking about gender, but there is so much extra information always available about everything you could think of. It's actually really fascinating. So between those 3 classes and Photography I'd like to think I'm using my electives well. Interesting, and related to my major, how much better can it get? Next weekend we are going to Byron Bay which is supposed to be gorgeous so I'm very excited about that. We keep trying to do day trips and are thwarted by various things out of our control, so when those actually happen I will post pictures of this beautiful country. I'll write again soon.
